It is with great sadness that the family of Verona Blanche Mosher, 91, long time resident of Indian Point, announces her passing on December 25, 2023.

She is lovingly remembered by daughters, Brenda (Gary) Lines, Tammy Mosher and son, Ricky Mosher, granddaughter Katie Lines and her partner, Thomas Myrden, Ginnie and Kirklind Gates, the Smeltzer and Murray families, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Born on 20 August 1932, in Beechville, NS, she was the first daughter of the late Deleta (Smeltzer) and Thomas Augustus Murray.

She is pre-deceased by her husband, William (Bill) Mosher, sister Rosalie, brothers, Joseph, Warren, Harold, Earl, Kenneth, Allison, Laurie, Jack and Douglas Murray.

Survived by sisters, Mary Murray, Goldie Boutilier and Victoria Giles.

Verona was an amazing person for many reasons. At the early age of 4 she was separated from her birth family and grew up with the loving guidance of the Smeltzer family in West Dover where she bonded easily with her cousins. Unable to walk until age 6-7, she was home-schooled by her Aunt Minnie, Uncle Judd and Uncle Art until Grade 5.

She was also fortunate over the years to reunite with her Murray family, becoming a favourite of her many brothers and sisters.

From 1956 on she carved out a life in Indian Point where she devoted 48 years of marriage to Bill resulting in 3 children. They were able to move into their own house in 1960 where Verona cared for her mother-in-law and other family members.

Over the years she worked numerous jobs at Moirs Chocolates, Sears, Mahone Nursing Home as a Personal Care worker, ABCO and Ed's Bakery in Mahone Bay. She also cared for local families including the Pugsleys, Hennigars, Brewsters. She loved baking everyone's favourites, peanut butter cookies and pies. She was also a member of the Union Church of Indian Point since the 60's.

Her favourite past-times included yard sales, card games, hootenannies and especially Bingo with her daughter, Tammy and her best friend, Hazel. She treasured her time driving with Ricky and their special conversations and cherished her time with Katie and the many smiles and hugs with Kirklind. Cheering for her favourite hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens. A highlight on her 85th birthday she travelled to Montreal to watch the Canadiens play in person. Truly an enjoyable event.
Even though she lived by the ocean, she found the comfort of being near the water but not on it. Always a smile and a hug (never cruel) it was her nature to help others and spread her joyfulness to all with a smile.
