Oct 16, 1948 - Dec 25, 2023
Della Prewett, born October 16, 1948, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away Christmas Day, 2023. Hers was a life of love, compassion and fun. She would load up the kids and their friends to go to concerts or games or maybe to roll a yard or two.
A fierce defender of her family, she was a loving and devoted wife for over 53 years. Della was so creative as when she made elaborate costumes with foil and spandex and on and on to become the California Raisin for the church fall festival event or in red long johns and painted on beard with a stogy in her mouth, terrorizing her friends at yet another fall festival.
Della was a Christian, loving the Lord and her witness to Him was lived out in her treatment and love of others and giving glory to Him.
She is survived by her husband, Brother Bo Prewett; son, Preston Prewett (Tina); brother-in-law, Tom Prewett (Marilyn); sisters, Nelda Hardin, June Comer (Bobby) and Elaine Yerby; grandchildren, Zach, Jaden, Haven and Chase and nephew, Nathan Prewett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Mable Hayes; daughter, Brijin Prewett and many beloved siblings and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2pm at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home; interment will follow in Midway Cemetery in Adamsville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1pm to 2pm.
