Carol Marie Boyd, the daughter of Dora and Fred Fett, was born August 7, 1942, at Reynolds, Nebraska. She departed this life on December 25, 2023, at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 81 years.

Carol received her formal education attending school at Fairbury, where she graduated with the class of 1960. She attended cosmetology school and then went to work in North Platte, Nebraska. She was united in marriage with Ronald L. Boyd on Nebraska 4, 1962 at Gladstone, Nebraska. This union was blessed with three sons, Mark, Kurt and Mitch.

Ron's work took the family to a number of communities in Nebraska including Omaha, Grand Island, Norfolk, Atkinson and Albion, before returning to Bladen to make their home. Carol had worked as a beautician, then with both the Sears Store and Pizza Hut in Albion. After moving to Bladen, she was employed with the Grandview Manor at Campbell with admissions and social work. She then worked for the Silver Lake schools as the Headstart Bus Monitor with her good friend Shannon Jameson.

Carol enjoyed a number of interests and activities in her spare time including golfing and bowling. Her love for her family was immeasurable and she especially cherished the time spent with her sons, grandkids, great grandkids and her many close relatives and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering personality which can be described in a number of ways including, kind, caring, fun-loving, strong and genuine. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ron; son, Mark and a sister, Doris O'Neal.

Left to treasure her memory are her sons, Kurt Boyd; Mitch Boyd and wife, Jessica; grandchildren: Lorna (Boyd) Osantowski, Laurann (Boyd) Milburn, Larissa Boyd, Riley (Boyd) Carraher and Jackson Boyd; her great grandchildren: Zoey, Emma, Griffin and Grant Osantowski; Mark, Henry and Sophie Milburn, and Noah and Leah Trimmer. Also surviving are her siblings, Darrell Fett and wife Ila; Arlene Ortiges and Delvin Ortiges; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 11:00 am, December 30, 2023, at the Methodist Church in Bladen, Nebraska. Interment will be at the East Lawn Cemetery in Bladen.

Visitation will be held Friday, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm at the funeral home with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am to service time at the church.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
