Sarah Lou Pitts Haney was born in Esto, Florida on June 30, 1952, to Thelma and Coy Pitts. She had two older sisters and one younger brother. She met Larry Haney upon his return from Vietnam while he was stationed at Ft. Rucker in Daleville, Alabama. This was where their story began.
Larry and Sarah dated for two months and then decided it was time to make it official. They were married on March 2, 1970, after Larry got an early leave from the Army to attend college. They moved to Tulsa, OK, and then to Tahlequah, OK in 1972. She and Larry have owned Moore Brothers Flooring since 2000, where they worked side by side every day for 23 years. They were married for 53 years and 10 months when she passed.
She and Larry have two sons, Jason Haney & wife Marissa, and Chris Haney & wife Larista. Jason has daughters Kylie Haney & son Hazyn Miller, Kadance Haney & fiancé Dylan Simpson, Addison Haney, and one son Jaxon. Chris has daughters Kristen Haney, fiancé Lane Alexander and daughter Hartlee, and Keerston Sherley, and sons Mason Sherley & wife Katie, Kyle Sherley & wife Serenity, and son Sebastian, and Cody Cole & wife Courtney, daughter Carsyn and son C.J.
