Mrs. Paul Rafferty, aged 23, of Scranton, formerly of this city, died last evening in St. Joseph's hospital, Philadelphia, following two months illness.
Mrs. Rafferty was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Joseph Shovlin, a plumbing contractor of the Heights section. She was married in August to Paul Rafferty, a teacher in Central high school, Scranton.
Before her marrlage she had resided in Philadelphia for six years, Before moving from this city to Philadelphia she had been employed at Madden's Stationery Store on South Main Street.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Alex Larmour, one brother, Joseph Shovlin, of New York City, and two sisters, Claire, of New York City, and Mrs. Dorothy Fox Chase, of Phlladelphia.
The remains will be brought to this city.
