Laverne was married to the love of her life, Clint "Buster" Nicholas McNeely, former Sgt. San Angelo Police Department, Capt. Ret. Tom Green County Sheriff's Office on August 4, 1953, whom she is preceded in death by.
Laverne worked for many years at Sears and Roebuck, Pool Company, Credit Bureau, Instacheck and retired from CheckStar in 2020.
Laverne is preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister. She is survived by her daughters Cheryl McNeely of San Angelo, Terri (Greg) Ferguson of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, and Stacy (Rodney) Barta of San Angelo. Her grandchildren SaBryna (Lorenzo) Ramirez of San Angelo, Clint (Kylie) Barta of San Angelo, Camron Barta of Austin, Texas, Shane (Megan) Ferguson of San Antonio, and Jacey Ferguson of Horseshoe Bay. She had 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. None of which were named after her much to her dismay. She also had lifelong friends, Joe and Lou Fields with their daughter Sherri.
Visitation for Laverne will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 27th, 2023, from 5-7 pm. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, December 28th 2023, at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Chang and St. Gabriel's Hospice.
