Ninavea was the daughter of Clyde and Libbie (nee Jones) Vandegrift. At the age of 13, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior during a Memorial Day service at Liberty Baptist Church. She was a current member of Hopewell Baptist Church of Everton, Missouri. She loved living on the farm, doing needlework, and playing with her grandchildren.
On January 1, 1950, she was united in marriage to J. D. Myers in Greenfield, Dade County, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D.; her parents; her sister, Madeline (John) Reich; brother, Curtis (Betty) Vandegrift; son-in-law, John Sugg; brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Myers; two special aunts, Nina Rutherford, Vea Jones; and step-mother, Marjorie Vandegrift.
Ninavea is survived by three daughters: Judy Sugg; Suzanne Myers; Teresa (John) Flowers; son, Micheal (Daralene) Myers; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Rose Mary Myers; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, dear friends, and neighbors.
Her burial was held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, in Shiloh Cemetery, located on Highway WW between Everton and Miller, Missouri. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Hopewell Baptist Church.
