Dorothy Mozelle Anderson was born December 21, 1930 in Madisonville, Texas to Steve Kirkpatrick and Ida Marie Gustavus. She passed from this life on May 17, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charlie Anderson, daughters, Sheryl Miller, Rhonda Crowson, granddaughter, Connie Davis, step granddaughter, Jenny Evans, brothers Raymond and Carl Kirkpatrick and sisters Vivian Frankum and Tommie Case.

Dorothy is survived by daughter Jackie Davis and husband Richard of Hope, Arkansas. Surviving brothers and sisters are Edith Henry, Herbert Kirkpatrick and Clyde Kirkpatrick. Grandchildren are Wayne Davis, Tonya Epperley, Michele Cowger, Vicki Britt and Keri Watson. Great grandchildren are Dylan Miller, Dustin Miller, Nathan Leal, Zachary Daughtery, Charlee Potts, Peyton Watson, Anderson Marini and Brandon Nichols (U.S. Army). One great great grandchild Emmie Miller. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Dorothy married Charlie Anderson the day after he got out of the Army. She was only fifteen. Her first job was in Madisonville at the movie theater as a ticket taker. She drove an 18 wheeler with Charlie in Houston, Texas and worked in department stores and retired after working in Baskins department in Trinity.

Dorothy could be found in the hay field with Charlie cutting, raking and baling hay. She crocheted up until a year prior to her death. She learned to sew from her mother. Baking and catering weddings and teaching Sunday School were part of her job description also. Church was her greatest joy. She worked as church secretary in Clute, Texas and was in charge of the WM's and was a devoted Christian. Dorothy was a member of the Trinity Tabernacle Church of Trinity and was in charge of the Women's Ministry.

Dorothy was strong willed and set in her ways. Up until a year ago she mowed her yard and drove her car with the pedal to the metal. She had no problem asking for help. Dressing up in costumes gave her such joy. Her sister often joined in the fun. She was skilled in making flower arrangements and would make them for her relatives' gravesites. She and her sister scattered bluebonnet seeds in the cemetery by her parents' gravesites. She has been heard to say many times "Nobody is going to tell me what to do." She did it her way!
