Alvah "Sonny" McKinney, 85, passed away on June 29, 2023, surrounded by family and loved ones at Medical City of Plano, TX.
Sonny was born on November 17, 1937, to Alvah "Brady" McKinney and Eteau Laura Jane Stewart in Fort Worth, TX. After graduating from Handley High School, Sonny attended the University of Texas at Austin.
On June 25, 1965, Sonny married Annie Plumlee. They had just celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Sonny worked for Texas Instruments for almost twenty years, then opened his own business, Semiconductor Deprocessing Laboratory, Inc., in Wylie, TX.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, Liam Mac Bridges, brother in law Arnold Plumlee and his wife Jean, and sister in laws Jane Jones and Winnie Plumlee. He is survived by his wife, Annie; daughter Alvalin Woodul (Jim) of Killeen, TX; son James McKinney (Mary) of Arlington, TX; and daughter Kelly Cotton (David Pike) of Raymondville, TX; grandchildren Jamie Fitzjarrell (Jeremy) of Katy, TX, Rebecca Woodul of Elgin, TX, Angela Woodul of Des Plaines, IL, Megan Rodriguez (Steve) of Moore, TX, Mallory Cotton of Raymondville,TX, Melody Cotton (Jessica) of Raymondville, TX, Haley McKinney of Arlington, TX, and Christopher McKinney of Arlington, TX; great grandchildren Tyler Fitzjarrell, Cash Peterson, Tanner Fitzjarrell, and Milo Purvey; brother in law Alvie Plumlee of Comanche, TX; brother in law Wayne Plumlee (Judy) of Poetry, TX; brother in law Raymond Plumlee (Nancy) of Quinlan, TX; sister in law Joy Fitzgerald of Forney, TX; sister in law Bonnie York of Rowlett, TX; sister in law Loretta Lowe of Arlington, TX; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
