On 16 Oct 1913, the S.S. Grosser Kurfrst arrived in the New York harbor. The passengers included Veronica Toth, 22, a housewife, and her son Janos, 11 mos. old. Her father, Lazlo Egri, remained behind in Hungary, while she was on her way to South Bend, Indiana to join her husband, Janos Toth.

Janos Toth, 32, a woodworker, husband of Verona (Egri) Toth, born 27 Aug 1886 in Hungary to Andrew & Julia (Dreibnyak) Toth, died 3 June 1918, and was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery. At the time of the 1920 census, Verona and her daughter Annie were living in South Bend, while her two sona were living at the St. Joseph Orphan Home in Fairfield Twp., Tippecanoe Co., IN.

Their marriage applications indicate that Veronica was born 22 Nov 1890 in Hungary to Laszlo and Martha (Papavich) Egri, that it was her second marriage, her first having ended by death in June of 1918; and Joe Pardicsone was born 20 Mar 1884 in Hungary to Michael & Veronica (Majyar) Paradicsone. It was his first marriage. [Hungarian Catholic Church records indicate that Josef Paradicsom, son of Mihaly & Veroni (Magyar) Paradicsom, was baptized 26 Aug 1878 in Szentmiklos, Smogy, Hungary. His age varies in the U.S. census records.}

In the 1930-1940 census records of Clay Twp., St Joseph County, IN, the family of Joseph Paradic, an assembler in a auto manufaturing company, and his wife Verona, included her children from her previous marriage: John, Nicholas, and Anna Toth.
