Anna Belle Hayes, passed to heaven December 23, 2014 after a long struggle with complications from a stroke. She was born September 13, 1929 to James Troy and Virgie M. Eoff in Harrison Arkansas.
Ann (Anna Belle) is preceded in death by her beloved husband Chauncey; brothers James Roy and Bradford Eoff and sister Hester Eoff, and dear friend Christine Hunke. Ann is survived by daughter and son-in-law Marsha and Louis Hunke of DeSoto, TX; Son and daughter-in-law Tim and Terri Hayes of Littleton, CO; grandchildren (and spouses) Daniel (Lauren) Hunke, Lauren (Jason) Eddington, Nathan (Lauren) Hunke and Patrick (Niccole) Hunke and Jim (Amber) Hayes, Josh (Liz) Hayes, David and Bryan Hayes; sister-in-law Mary Lou Middleton of Fayetteville, AR. She had numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
One of Ann's favorite passages from the Bible was Proverbs 31. Some people call those verses the description of the Virtuous woman. Ann really exuded those verses. She worked all her life and we can hardly remember hearing her complain. As a child, work started out as chores around home and milking cows for her parents (she could aim from a cow udder and squirt to a kitten's mouth in the air!). As a teenager she worked at the town beauty shop, the 5-10 Cent Store, the City Water Dept. and the jewelry store. Ann met Chauncey Hayes, after he returned from WWII and while she worked at the 5-10 Cent Store. He loved the cherry limeades she made at that store soda fountain. After months of dating, Chauncey took Ann to the land his grandparents lived on in their youth and asked her to marry him.
On June 2, 1948, at the age of 18, she married Chauncey and they moved to Norman, Oklahoma for him to attend the University of Oklahoma. For four years, Ann supported Chauncey financially, typed his class lectures notes, proofed/typed his papers, quizzed him before tests and he credited her as crucial in helping him earn his degree in Geological Engineering. They soon moved to Tulsa, OK where together, they raised Marsha and Tim. When the family needed the money, she went to work as the Building Manager's Secretary of the Warren Professional Bldg. Ann is known for being: loving, devoted to family and friends, independent, honest, strong-willed, an astute business woman, loyal, frugal, and a sweet friend to those God brought into her life.
Ann was devoted to her husband and children and extended family. We loved her dearly! She loved playing tennis and camping with Chauncey, Marsha and Tim, playing dominoes, card games of all types to include bridge and Rook. She was a staunch OU Sooner football and Dallas Cowboy fan. Even in her last months, when she had difficulty following the score, she still wanted to watch the games and talk about her teams. She especially appreciated watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren at play. Granny loved God and trusted that Jesus Christ died on the cross for forgiveness of her sins. We thank God for taking her into His presence where she now has a healthy body, mind, and spirit!
As a family, we greatly appreciate the many people who loved and cared for Ann (Anna Belle) while she lived in Dallas: friends and family from Faith Bible Church in DeSoto, the staff of her residence homes of Crescent Point Independent Living and Crescent Place Assisted Living in DeSoto, TX, the wonderful caregivers of Caregiver's Connection 4 U and Bristol Hospice. Much thanks to all who patiently cared for, loved and befriended her!
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 3 at 10 a.m. at Faith Bible Church in DeSoto, TX.

Memorials may be made to Faith Bible Church in DeSoto or The Gideons International.
