Information according to North-West H B Commission (scrip) 1878 at Winnipeg - Alexander Venne's father was Michel Venne, born Mar 10, 1848 at St Norbert, Manitoba to parents Pierre Venne, a Frenchman and Marie Charette a Metis. Alexander Venne's mother was Cecile Lorance born St Joseph, Red River area to Norbert Larance and Josephte Parenteau, both Metis.
Michel and Cecile Venne lived in Saskatchewan in and around Prince Albert and Duck Lake in the 1870s. They moved to North Dakota to Olga and Walhalla, Pembina.
Son Alexander returned to Manitoba where he married Elise Fleury at St Madeleine in the RM of Ellice in 1905. Following the death of his wife Elise in 1912, Alexander left his kids with his wife's parents, Baptiste and Cecile Fleury. He spent time again in North Dakota, eventually returning to Manitoba. He married a second time in 1918 to Philomena Ducharme (St Ambroise) near Portage la Prairie. He and Philomena returned to his children at Ste Madeleine later in the 1920s. His senior years were spent in the RM of Portage with Philomena.
