Edwin C. "Ned" Hatch, 88, of Bellwood, was surrounded by family when he passed away peacefully in his sleep Dec. 10, 2023.
He was born in Altoona on Aug. 6, 1935, a son of the late Edwin and Nellie (McElwee) Hatch.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Suzanne E. (Boland) Hatch; daughter, Eileen Williams (Gary); sons: Randy Hatch (Judy) and Dave Hatch (Sherry); 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Ned was preceded in death by his son, John Hatch; brothers, Don, Harry and Nick; stepbrother, Allen; sisters, Rose and Betty; and a stepsister, Susan.
Ned served in the U.S. Navy, and retired from Small Tubes in 1996, where he worked for 38 years, as an overhead crane operator for the first eight years and then ran the furnace afterward.
Ned enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and drinking his homemade wine around fires. He loved his Chihuahua, Snoopy.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
