GALESBURG -- Leroy E. "Lee" Webber, 69, of 1727 Brown Ave. died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at his residence.
Born Nov. 27, 1928, in Galesburg to Roy and Ruth Applegren Webber, he married Phyllis "Joan" Worden on Oct. 15, 1949, in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Mike of Galesburg; one daughter, Nancy Berry of Galesburg; two brothers, Thomas of Galesburg and Richard of Hurst, Texas; and two grandchildren. One sister preceded him in death.
He was a firefighter for the city of Galesburg for 25 years, retiring as assistant fire chief in 1979. A member and past president of Fire Fighters Union Local 555, he also assisted other Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois locals throughout the state.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 894. He also was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Galesburg.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home. The Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or to the American Heart Association.
