George W Cuppy Succumbs to Illness
George W Cuppy, age 78, died yesterday at St John's Hospital, where he had been critically ill the past two weeks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Waugh Funeral Home, with burial in the Piqua Cemetery.

Mr. Cuppy was born in Humboldt and spent all his life in and around Iola and Humboldt.

In the early days he drove a stage coach out of Oklahoma City, and made a run on the Cherokee strip and took a homestead that he later sold. He lived on a farm near Piqua before moving to Iola in 1904.

He is survived by three sons, I.C. Cuppy of north of Iola; Archie W Cuppy, Iola, and George Cuppy, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren;

two sisters, Mrs Bell Harmon, Kansas City, and Mrs Sadie Neal, Oklahoma City, and one brother, Frank Cuppy of California. His wife preceded him in death in 1929.

NOTE: The obituary gives Piqua Cemetery as his interment place but apparently it is in the Iola Township Cemetery. The town of Piqua is only one mile west of the cemetery so it was at one time probably referred to as the Piqua Cemetery.
