Gregory Michael Adamek
February 13, 1954 — December 5, 2023

Gregory "Greg" Michael Adamek of Bellaire passed away December 5, 2023 after 69 wonderful years of life. He was born February 13, 1954 in Detroit, the son of Chester and Dolores (Liebau) Adamek.

Greg married his beloved wife, Grace (Cerra) Adamek June 18, 1976 at Sacred Heart Church in Roseville, Michigan and enjoyed almost 48 wonderful years of marriage and family. He was a devoted family man, husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his grandchildren immensely.

Greg worked in the transport logistics industry in total for over 50 years and specifically drove for USF Holland for 22 years. After he retired, he went back to work for his son-in-law at Impact Building in Petoskey as a Project Manager for 7 years.

Additionally, Greg spent 28 years of dedicated service to the Otsego County Fire Department along with being on the EMS and Rescue squad. When he wasn't on duty, his commitment to his community continued as he performed life saving measures, saving two lives. Greg was also an active member at Church in the Hills of Bellaire.

Greg loved the outdoors and being on Torch Lake on his boat with his family. He was an avid hunter with his son and a hobbyist of muscle cars.

Surviving is his wife, Grace "Linda" Adamek, 3 children, Candy (Hannah Metheny) Adamek of San Antonio, TX, Kelly (Adam) Vertican of Petoskey, MI, and Matthew (Jenna) Adamek of Mancelona, MI, brother, Gerrick (Mary) Adamek of Orleans, MI, sister, Sheryl Kowalske of Lenox, MI, and four grandchildren, Olivia and Amelia Adamek, and Joshua and Jesse Vertican. Greg was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday December 10th at 1pm at Church in the Hills, 6401 Shanty Creek Road, Bellaire Michigan 49615.

Arrangements are in the care of the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
