Allan Wiebe was born on March 26, 1923 in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan and passed away on December 1, 2023 in Salem, Oregon.

He grew up in a large family of 7 siblings and his father was his school teacher. The family moved to Mountain Lake, Minnesota during Allan's high school years. Following in his father's footsteps, he went to Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas to become a teacher. He later earned Bachelor and Masters degrees from the University of Nebraska in Omaha. While attending Tabor College he met Selma Schmidt and they were married in 1945. In 1960, due to unrest in Congo, the family returned to the United States and Allan became the pastor of Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church (now Evangelical Bible Church (EBC)) in Dallas, Oregon. In 1968 he accepted a position as professor of missions at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska. Allan also served on the boards of several mission agencies and churches throughout his career. Allan and Selma moved back to Oregon when they retired and he became the visitation pastor of EBC church in Dallas. In 2017 he retired from that position at the age of 94. A benediction he would often pray over us with upraised arm, at the close of the service, was from Hebrews chapter 13, verses 20 and 21:
"Now the God of peace, that brought again our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
