Gary David Shaver, 76, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House.
Gary was born on March 13, 1947, in Iredell County to the late Raymon "Bill" Alan Shaver and Daisy Millsaps Shaver. He was a graduate of Central High School and went on to serve in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. A carpenter by trade, Gary enjoyed woodworking and collecting antique tools. He and his wife, Diane Fowler Shaver, were members at Barkers Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander Price and grandmothers, Blanche Pharr Shaver and Lena Mason Millsaps.
Along with his wife, Diane, Gary is survived by his sons, Mark Shaver (Betty), Curtis Shaver (Tammy), step-sons, Trinity Price (Christine), Greg Price (Candace) and step-daughter, Cashawn Price. He is further survived by eleven grandchildren, Nikki Shaver, Chasity Sharpe (Brandon), Chelsea Shaver, Sarah Wallace, Skyler Wallace, Eric Brooks, Grace Price, Gabriel Price, Mikaela Hughes, Ruby Price, and Maximus Price. He is also survived by his four great grandchildren, sister, Sharon Shaver Keatley, several nieces and nephews and close cousins.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Barkers Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
