Betty Lucinda Shireman, 89, of Stuttgart, widow of Charles Robert Shireman, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023. Mrs. Shireman was born March 23, 1934, in Fayette, Ala., to Olus and Eardeal Goolsby.

She was retired from Stuttgart City Water Works where she worked as a clerk for over 30 years. She was a member of Central Christian Church of Stuttgart.

Besides her parents, and her husband whom she was married to for 64 years, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda Shireman and Tammy Edmondson; son, Stephen Shireman; sister, Jewel Dean Young; and brother, Auther Goolsby.

Survivors are daughter, Charlene Reeves and husband Andy of Humphrey; four grandchildren, Kelly Houghton (Bryan) of Humphrey, Brian Reeves (Stacey) of Stuttgart, Jacob Edmondson (Megan) of Stuttgart and Stephen Edmondson (Madelyn) of Humphrey; great-grandchildren, Hailey Houghton, Jacie Houghton, Cadence Reeves, Charlee Reeves, Jaxon Edmondson and Paisleigh Edmondson; sister, Nancy Banks (Tommy) of Downsville, La.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeWitt City Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
