REIDSVILLE - Winfred M. "Pete" Chapmon, 85, of 114 Hillcrest Road, died Sunday evening at Greensboro Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

He was a native of Reidsville, retired from American Tobacco Company, and was a member of Covington Memorial Wesleyan Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn C. Lee and Shirley C. Pearson, both of Greensboro; sons, Lawrence O. Chapmon, Thomas G. Chapmon, and Mac Chapmon, all of Reidsville; 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nanie Dove, Elsie Smith, Clara James, Nell Baynes, all of Reidsville; and brother, Richard Chapmon of Reidsville.
