Mrs. Sybil Delores Kirkley Blakely, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, November 25, 2023. She was born December 5, 1934, in Kershaw, SC, daughter of the late Harold Kirkley and Bernice Williams Kirkley and was the wife of the late William Robert Blakely. Mrs. Blakely was employed with Springs Industries as a Bale Checker. She left her work early to do what she loved most, taking care of her family. Yard work and gardening were a passion of hers. Mrs. Blakely was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a prayer warrior who listed each one by name that she prayed for. Jesus Christ was first in her life then her family followed. She was an active charter member of White Springs Baptist Church for 71 years, where she enjoyed going on mission trips and working on the kitchen committee. For several years, you would find her every Sunday after church and lunch with her family at the nursing homes visiting. Mrs. Blakely was a true Christian example for her family and others.
Mrs. Blakely is survived by her daughter, Gina Warren; grandchildren, Cindy Horton (Steve), Allison Wright (Kip), Daniel Warren (Katie), and Michael West; great grandchildren, Braydon Horton (Morgan), Ashton Thompson (Dale), Ali Grace Wright (Logan), Megan Thompson, Karlie West, Justin Thompson, Austin Wright, Mason Wright, and Fitz Warren; great-great grandchildren, Brynnlee Maccue and Ziva Horton; a brother, Gerald Bruce Kirkley (Maxie); a son-in-law, Kenneth West; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Blakely; her daughter, Robin West; a grandchild, Ryan West; her parents, and a brother and his wife, Harold "Wayne" Kirkley and Margie.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Blakely will be 3:00 pm Saturday, December 2, 2023, at White Springs Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Brad Threatt and Rev. Mike Hammond. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
