Sturlen "Stu" Beckelhymer, age 91, of Hanover Township, passed on to his home in heaven on December 2, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Stu was born on October 5, 1932 in Irvine, Kentucky, the fifteenth child of Ansel and Parriett (Logsdon) Beckelhymer. He attended Thomas School, then moved to Hamilton and worked at Millilo Bakery prior to enlisting in the Army. While in the Army, he achieved the level of Sergeant and completed jump school at Ft Bragg making greater than 20 jumps. After discharge from the Army, he worked at Pease Lumber Company and retired from White Castle Bakery in 1994, and returned to work there for a few years after spending 11 years wintering in Florida. Stu attended Calvary Christian Center.

Stu met the love of his life, Stella Margaret Cook (Peggy), on a blind date and they were married in Hamilton in 1959. They celebrated their 64th anniversary in August. He has devoted the past few years to being her primary caregiver. He was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma and started aggressive chemotherapy treatment in hopes of having more years with her.

Stu is survived by his wife, his daughters, Angela (William) Wyatt of Titusville, Florida, Kimberly (Curt) Taylor of Oxford, and son, Lawrence (Tamela) of Hanover Township. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Micah, Kimberlee, Stacy, Travis, Tyler and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents and 14 siblings.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, OH 45013. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Jim Mullins of Calvary Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery
