She was born in Newnan, GA to Hillman and Martha Edmondson. She was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Edmondson and her son Mark Royal. Martha is survived by her 2 sons and daughters-in-law; five granddaughters and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Diane Crider, her husband Billy D Crider and numerous nieces, nephews and friends she called family.
One of her granddaughters summed her up pretty well; "She was the toughest, most stubborn, funny, hardworking, loving, determined woman." Her family never doubted for one day that they were loved. She loved to cook and bake and learned much of her craft while she and her siblings spent most of their childhood in the Georgia Baptist Children's Home. She always said, "your food tastes better when you share and there is always room for one more at the table." Her upbringing developed much of her toughness and love for her family. She also shared a great love for her work family at Britt's Home Furnishings and for Snellville, GA, where she spent most of her adult life. Her quick wit, sarcasm and unconditional love for her family will be missed.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Martha Ellen Royal will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA.
