Obituary from flammfh.com:
Vaudys Marion Johnson Rigby, wife and mother, beautiful in both body and spirit, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father Thursday, November 30, 2023. Vaudys was 95 years old and was preceded in death by her husband and partner in life, Harold L Rigby. Together they raised five children, three daughters and two sons, that gave them the greatest gifts of their life, 21 grandchildren and 71 great grandchildren. Vaudys loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and partner with her husband farming and ranching in Hibbard, Idaho.

Vaudys was born May 21, 1928, in Grant, Idaho to Robert and Rachel Johnson and was the fourth of six children born to this union. Vaudys learned to work hard on her family's farm and had a great love and respect for her bothers and sisters. She graduated from Midway High School in Lewisville, Idaho and later attended college at Brigham Young University while working part-time in the credit department at Sears Roebuck & Co.

After returning home from school, she agreed to a date with a young man with the last name Rigby, whom she thought was her missionary's good friend. It turned out that the young man calling was not her missionary's friend but the brother of a close girlfriend who also had the last name Rigby; a mix up meant to happen. They were married six months later in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 18, 1951. Their love and devotion to each other, to their family and most importantly to the Lord, was an inspiration to all who knew them. She loved telling their story.

They bought their first 80-acre farm and home in Hibbard, near Harold's family where he also ranched and farmed with his brothers. Throughout her life she supported her husband in the cattle and farming operations. It was a wonderful way to raise their five children and she loved the close association with Harold's family.

A big part of her life was serving others. She served as Stake Primary President and Ward Relief Society President along with teaching her favorite Primary classes. She was an amazing cook and found it as a way she could serve others. Each Thanksgiving she always prepared several extra plates of food for people in need. A great joy to she and Harold was serving in the LDS Temple with her husband for 17 years, then serving an LDS mission in Houston, Texas.

Her hobbies were always centered around doing and giving to others. She loved to sew and made many formals for her daughters and hundreds of quilts for her family. Her garden was her pride and joy and she loved tending to her beautiful flower boxes each summer. She was an avid reader right up until the last day of her life. The scriptures especially brought her peace and joy.

She is survived by her five children: Rita (Chandler) Garbett of South Jordan, UT, Christine (Mark deceased) Petersen of Idaho Falls, ID, Linda (Rex) Miller of Rigby, ID, Larry (Janet) Rigby of Rexburg, ID, Bart (Cheri) Rigby of Rexburg, ID.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Hibbard Henry Fork Stake Center at 1508 West 3000 North Rexburg. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
