Betty Earline Wahl, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
Betty was born on September 13, 1933, in Perry County, Tennessee to Leonard Easley DePriest and Vera Elizabeth Morris DePriest.
She married Lewis Wahl on December 22, 1951, in Alcorn County, Mississippi and promptly moved to McCamey, Texas.
A few months later, they made their way to Odessa where they remained.
She and Lewis were married 58 years before his passing in 2009.
Betty went to work at Grant Supply in 1967 as a secretary and retired in 1985 as the Southwest Regional Administrator.
She loved to travel, and she and Lewis visited almost every state in the country after her retirement.
She loved her church and her church family at Northside Baptist.
Our family was blessed to have Betty, and she was devoted to US all.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis, her parents, brothers Glen, Charles (Joe), Thomas Robert DePriest and sister Paulette Bell.
She is survived by her son Michael and wife Peggy of Odessa, daughter Connie Nelson of Georgetown, granddaughter Elizabeth Anne and husband Kevin Yancey of Austin, great granddaughter Vera Lyn and a great grandbaby on the way. Betty is also survived by sisters, Louise Branch of Medina, Tennessee, and Peggy Wahl of Chapmansboro, Tennessee, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr. Chittur Ramanathan for his many many years in caring for Betty. Thanks to Northside Baptist Church pastor Clydel Chapman for all his visits, prayers and comfort. We appreciate him so much.
