A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday morning in Vallejo for Martinez native Katherine M. Aiello-Caretti, who died June 11 at a Vallejo convalescent hospital. A 50-year Vallejo resident, she was 84 years of age.
Mrs. Aiello-Caretti worked at several canneries and at the Benicia Arsenal during World War II. She was a member of St. Basil's Catholic Church in Vallejo; a member at past officer at the Beatrice Portinari Lodge, Order of Son of Italy of Vallejo; member of the Italian Social Club and the Italian Catholic Federation in Vallejo; served in PTAs of Highland Elementary, Vallejo Junior High and Vallejo Senior High schools in the 1950s and 1960s. Mrs. Aiello-Caretti was the wife of Silvio P. Caretti of Vallejo.
Thursday's Mass will be at 10:30am at St. Basil's Catholic Church, 1200 Tuolumne St., Vallejo. Entombment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Vallejo. A memorial service under the direction of the Beatrice Portinari Lodge will be at 7:30pm tomorrow at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10am to 9pm at the mortuary.
