Annette Mae Barrett, a beloved member of the Battle Creek community, has passed away at the age of 86. Born on February 2, 1937, in Dayton, Tennessee, the daughter of Daniel and Mae (Petrie) Yother. Annette made her mark on the world through her selfless acts of love and devotion to her family and friends.

Annette's journey in life led her to Battle Creek, Michigan, where she resided for the past 70 years. Her warm and caring nature truly shone through as she dedicated herself primarily to being a homemaker. Annette's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she worked as a home health aide for a time and in a hospital sterile processing department.

An active member of the Battle Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church, Annette found solace and strength in her faith. She cherished participating in Bible Study and drew inspiration from the teachings she studied. Annette had a penchant for word search puzzles that nurtured her mind and brought her moments of relaxation and contemplation.

While family always remained at the center of Annette's life, she also enjoyed indulging in some well-deserved leisure time. Wintering in Florida provided respite from Michigan's harsh winters, allowing her to bask in the sunshine and create lasting memories with loved ones. The joy that radiated from spending quality time with her grandchildren was immeasurable.

Annette's marriage to Charles Barrett on April 8, 1955, was a true testament to lasting love and partnership. Together they overcame life's challenges with unwavering dedication until Charles's passing in 2009. Although this loss was heartbreaking for Annette, she found strength in cherishing their shared memories and the legacy they built together.

Annette Mae Barrett's impact reached far beyond her immediate family circle. She leaves behind cherished memories for all who knew her. Survived by her children - Charles E. (Pearl) Barrett, Rick A. (Robin) Barrett, Jefferson B. (Doreen) Barrett, and Melissa M. (Andy) Gilbert, and a special friend, Ron Smith - Annette's love continues to thrive through the lives of her sister, Ruth Burdick, fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. They will carry forward her legacy of compassion, kindness, and love.

In this moment of grief, we invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Annette's remarkable life. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on December 4th, 2023, at the Richard A Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Battle Creek, Michigan.
