Gerry Allen
Gerry "Stump" Allen, age 76, of Arlington, Ky., passed away on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah.
Gerry was born in Paducah, Ky., on March 18, 1947. He was a member of Arlington First Baptist Church and was
a veteran of the United States Army. Gerry was a lifelong trucker who knew every road in the country. He was known to be a human GPS from his many years of driving and his family could always count on him to get them to where they were going. Anyone who knew Gerry was familiar with his big personality and his ability to tell jokes and cut up with anyone. Gerry loved to relax during his free time by watching NASCAR or one of his favorite Westerns. His family will always remember Gerry for being a loving man who always put his family's needs first.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jones Allen; his daughter, Dana Allen Stephens of Arlington; his son, Bobby (Amanda) Allen of Clinton; three sisters, Marilyn Barksdale of Mayfield, Helen Jean Jackson of Arlington, and Janet Terry of Fredericktown, Mo.; six grandchildren, Travis (Micah) Mills, Brett Stephens, Steven (Lexi) Allen, Hannah Stephens, Danielle Stephens and Allie Allen; five great-grandchildren, Tavyn Mills, Haddix Brown, Tate Mills, Lukas Allen and Nolan Stephens; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Webb Allen and Mary Sue Bright Allen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Bro. David Sphinx officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
