Heber Reed Curtis, age 80, of Lehi, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2023, at his home surrounded by family and friends after a year-long battle with cancer.

He was born November 9, 1943, in Lehi, Utah to Vern Luis and Leah Vernice Barnhart Curtis. After graduation from Lehi High School he married Patricia Nokes on October 13, 1962. They settled in Lehi where they raised their five children.

He was in the Army Reserves for four year and was honorably discharged just before his unit activated to Vietnam. He worked hard his entire life to provide for his family and had two careers from which he officially retired. He was Santa's helper for over twenty years and lovingly heard Christmas wishes from hundreds of children in Utah.

Reed enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, taking adventurous road trips and visiting with his lifelong friends. He loved being with his family, spending time at the cabin they built together, where he spent several hours each week feeding and watching the wildlife. In his later years, he shortened winters by relaxing on cruise ships.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints / Wines Park Ward of Lehi.

He is survived by his wife and five children: Jana Curtis, Tricia (Scott) Price, Sheena (Shaun) Wilson, Tyson (Ceri) Curtis, Hollie (Joel) McKinney. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters: Gaylene Baxter and Andrea Farnsworth.

Reed was preceded in death by his parents, brother (Ronald Jay), three sisters (Deon, Janae, Vonda) and one grandson (Justin Kohler).

A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wing Mortuary, 118 E Main St, Lehi. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Wines Park Chapel, 481 E 300 N, Lehi, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at the Lehi City Cemetery.
