A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Alfano was a 1974 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. Upon graduating he followed his father's career path as a second-generation master bricklayer.

Tan had a profound love for the outdoors, the peacefulness of the wilderness

In the kitchen, Tan was particularly skilled in preparing and savoring the rich flavors of Cajun cuisine. He took immense pleasure in cooking and sharing meals, especially those infused with the vibrant spices and tastes of Louisiana. His mastery of Cajun dishes brought joy and delight to many gatherings and family dinners.

One of Tan's greatest pleasures was in savoring seafood, with a particular fondness for shrimp. He wasn't particular about where he ate when dining out as long as shrimp were on the menu.

Tan was heavily involved in his local AA chapter. He was a huge fan of Pink Floyd, Bucket Head, Robin Trower, Peter Frampton, Led Zepplin, and his 1996 Nissan truck.

He spent the last year of his life traveling to visit his children and grandchildren.

Tan will be remembered for his love for life, passion for the outdoors, cooking, and sharing meals with loved ones leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his father Frank Alfano

May Tan's soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
