James Austin Ensey, 53, was killed instantly Saturday afternoon, January 22, when an automobile on which he was working fell on him. He was pronounced dead at about 8 p.m. after the accident occurred in the garage at 303 E. North in Panhandle. Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Glenn Beaver, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Skellytown, officiating, burial was in Panhandle Cemetery by Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Mark Lymburner, Dennis Cook, George Grover, Amos Cook, Merle Kramer and Mike Ross. Mr. Ensey was born in Odell on April 22, 1929. he married Margie Wiggs on August 27, 1948 in Panhandle. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Skellytown. He worked for the City of Panhandle several years and, at the time of his death, was employed by Fish Construction County, in Borger. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Lee Ensey of Lubbock, three daughters, Carolyn Sue Hayes and Donna Ensey, both of Oklahoma City, and Loretta Smith of Panhandle; four brothers, Levi Ensey of Odell, Elmer Ensey of Panhandle, and Alvis Ensey and Don Ensey, both of Mesquite; a sister, Lillie Johnson of Abernathy; and eight grand children.
