Elvin T. Kilpatrick, age 93, passed away in Dallas, TX on September 17, 2008. He is survived by Winifred Kilpatrick, his wife of 60 years, and family members Ted Kilpatrick, Ann Kilpatrick, Lynda Humble, Dora Lee Kilpatrick, Sally Cooper and Susan Venable. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Irvin, and eight other siblings. Born September 28, 1914, Elvin was a native of Ouachita Parish and lived most of his life in Monroe where he was active in the First United Methodist Church.

Elvin worked for Columbian Chemicals Co. for 48 years and was a U. S. Navy veteran serving in the Pacific during World War II. After retiring in 1977, he enjoyed golfing, vegetable gardening, traveling and being a member of the North Monroe Lions Club. In 1999, he and his wife moved to Mesquite, TX to be near his son and daughter-in-law.

In Mesquite, he led an active life at the Waterford Retirement Community and was a charter member of the New Covenant United Methodist ministry at the Waterford. The family will receive visitors at the First United Methodist Church, 3900 Loop Road, Monroe, LA,
