Obituary from nalderfuneralhome.com:
Ida Carolyn Hatch Rawson peacefully passed away on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at Morning Star Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls due to natural causes. She was surrounded by members of her loving family.

She was born December 6, 1933 in Logan, Utah to Lenord Lamoin Hatch and Zina Kunz. Over the years, Carolyn's brothers and sisters increased to 20 as her mother outlived 3 husbands. Initially the family resided in Victor, Idaho and lived on a farm raising cattle and sheep. When she was 3 years old, her father was killed by a lightning strike. This caused the family to move to Utah where her family grew from 2 to 10 children with the marriage of her mother to John Fuit, a widowed farmer from Clinton Utah. Later in life, she gained additional family members when her mother married Orville Cox, a business owner in Shelley Idaho.

Carolyn graduated from Davis High school, attended Utah State University, and worked as a secretary at Hill Air Force Base. After meeting Dee Rawson at a church dance, they soon were married in the Logan Temple on June 19, 1953. Most of their married life they lived in Shelley, Idaho where they raised their 4 children. They were married for 56 years before her husband's passing in 2009. She loved being a homemaker and excelled as a seamstress, pie and candy maker and was always willing to share and serve others. Over the years, Carolyn, in addition worked with special needs children, was a legal secretary, store manager, and Jr High school secretary.

She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has held many Ward and Stake positions. She and her husband served a mission in Nauvoo in 1998-99 and nine winters in St George Utah as service missionaries.

Her children are Brent (Nena) Rawson, Houston TX, Deann (Fred) Cooper, Idaho Falls ID, Nancy (Kevin) Thornton, Fairfield CA, Marie (Steve) Kapp, Hyrum UT. She has 16 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Long Cove Ward building at 1925 East 49th South, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83404 on Saturday December 9, 2023 at 11 am. Interment will be at Hilcrest Cemetery in Shelley.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley. Special thanks to the staff at Morning Star Assisted Living and Aspen Hospice.
