Mr. Edward Marvin Shelton, known to friends and family as Marvin, passed away peacefully at his home in Dearing, GA, on November 28, 2023. Born on October 11, 1941, in Wilkes County.
Marvin was a devoted family man, survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Ann Shelton. He was a proud father to his sons, Clyde Shelton (Kerri), Chandler Brown (Ginger), and Tim Brown. Marvin's joy was magnified by his grandchildren, April McCallister (Joey), Addison Brown, Cohen Brown, Layla Brown, and Blaike Burgess. His legacy continued to grow with the birth of his great-grandchild, Preston McCallister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Burt Shelton and Lillie Ruth Harper Shelton. Marvin's family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Marvin received his education in Warren County, where he graduated high school. His strong work ethic and dedication led him to a successful career as the Manager of Citgo in Thomson, GA. Marvin was known for his leadership and commitment to his work. His dedication to his profession was evident in his long-standing tenure at Citgo.
Beyond his professional life, Marvin was a man of many interests. He found the most joy in spending time with his family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Marvin was a man of great character, embodying qualities of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. His kindness extended beyond his family, touching the lives of many in his community. Marvin's thoughtfulness was seen in his actions, always considering the needs of others in everything he did.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia and is being officiated by Rev. Charles Reese.
