Bettendorf - Services for Andrew Francis Agosta, of Bettendorf, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, with military services conducted by American Legion Post 26, Davenport. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport.

Andrew died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

He was a teacher in Dubuque, Greene and Marengo, Iowa, high schools. He also taught at North Scott High School, Eldridge, Iowa, from 1967 until retiring in 1992.

He was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Frank and Antonina (Bruno) Agosta. He married Carol Ernst in 1968 in Dubuque.

During the Korean War, he served in the Army.

He was a member of American Legion Post 273, Bellevue, Iowa. He also was a member of National Education Association, Iowa State Education Association, Bix Jazz Society and Catfish Jazz Society. Memorials may be made to Genesis Dialysis Center.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Daniel Agosta and his wife Mitzi, Hanover Park, Ill., and Thomas Agosta, Bettendorf; a grandson, Robert Agosta, Hanover Park; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Agosta, Hanover Park; and a sister, Virginia Pusateri and her husband A.J., Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
