Thomas Joseph Wheelwright was ordained as a Redemptorist Priest at Mt. St. Alphonsus Seminary, Esopus, New York on the 7th June 1916. He was rector of St. Alphonsus Retreat House, Tobyhanna, where weekend retreats for laymen of the Scranton Diocese are conducted each weekend during the spring, summer and fall months.
Father Wheelwright, did much to help save his half-brother's life after the 1916 rebellion.
He died on the 22nd July 1946, in Pennsylvania in an automobile accident while taking another priest to the hosptial.
