SPRINGDALE, Arkansas, Oct. 3 -- WILLIAM A. ACUFF, 71, of Lowell, Arkansas, died on Monday at the Elizabeth Hospital at Prairie Grove following an illness of seven days. He was born on Sept. 29, 1880, at Washburn, Tennessee. A poultry raiser, he moved from Flint, Michigan to Harmon, Arkansas in 1935, and later moved to Lowell.
Mr. Acuff is survived by his wife, Alpha Marshall Patterson Acuff; two sons, Orval Acuff and Reginald Acuff; two stepchildren, Esco Patterson and Mrs. William Humphrey, both of Flint, Michigan, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Callison-Sison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Jordan, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Springdale, officiating.
