Mr. Aaron Hamilton Hagin, Jr., age 85, of Jefferson, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Hart, Rev. Johnny Blevins and Rev. Kurt Kissinger officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hagin was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia on Monday, May 5, 1930 to the late Aaron Hamilton and Nava Powell Hagin.

Aaron served in the United States Army.

He retired from H & W Trucking; after a lifetime of driving long distance. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. In Aaron's spare time, he enjoyed deep sea fishing and fishing on the lake. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather; he will be missed by all.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Victoria Hagin; three sisters, two brothers and a stepson, Michael Thatford.

Mr. Hagin is survived by his wife, of 21 years of marriage, Lucy Ballou Hagin; two sons, Lloyd Turrisi, of Fleetwood and David Thatford and wife, Cathy, of Chicago; five daughters, Rita Phipps and husband, Mark, of Crumpler, Debbie Viers and husband, Johnny, of Laurel Springs, Shirley Ann Pate, of Greensboro, GA, Rita Bostic and husband, Robin, of Atlanta, GA and Sharon Cherwaty, of Montana; sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
