His funeral service with Pastor Darvin Shipman officiating will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Liberty Baptist Church, 1149 E. S. 11th with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.
Wallace was born on February 16, 1944 in Potosi, Missouri and grew up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He has been a resident of Abilene for 15 years, working as a truck driver for Abtex Beverage and Rolys Trucking. He married Mary Herrera on July 31, 1996 and attended Liberty Baptist Church. He loved riding his Harley.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Swagerty of Abilene; two daughters, Tracy Esquibel of Wichita Falls and Terri Hayter of Burkburnett; two step children, Dion Wheeler and LaDale Harris both of Abilene; one sister, Debra Swagerty of Ft. Worth; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
