She was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Goodfield, the daughter of William and Emma Moser Reeser. She married Marion Ross Aeschliman on Feb. 9, 1941, in Peoria. He died Feb. 19, 1993.
Surviving are her children, Patricia (Ralph) Bryson, Joliet; Ronald (Carol) Aeschliman, Tucson, Ariz.; and Marilyn (Francis) Blume, Chicago; a brother, Richard (Kay) Reeser, East Peoria; three sisters, Marie Petrowski, Metamora; Edna (William) Tellkamp, Punta Gorda, Fla.; and Linda (Robert) Waller, Carlock; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, William and Frank Reeser.
Dorothy graduated from Goodfield High School in 1939. She completed beauty school in Peoria in 1940 and worked as a beautician until her marriage. She and her husband lived in Morton, rural Deer Creek and Goodfield until they moved to Joliet in 1951. They retired to Punta Gorda, Fla., in 1990. She returned to Joliet in 1996.
Once her children were older, Dorothy worked outside the home providing childcare and housecleaning services. She also worked at Goldblatts Department Store as a retail clerk.
She was strong in her Christian faith and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Goodfield as a young woman. She was a charter member of Judson Memorial Baptist Church in Joliet where she taught Sunday school and Bible school and sang in the choir.
She was involved in the Women's Missionary Society and various Bible study groups.
Dorothy loved music and dancing. She began singing as a child at her father's grocery store in Goodfield and had lead roles in her high school musicals. She met her husband at a dance and in later years they became active in a square-dancing group. She also sang in the Will County Chorus. She enjoyed embroidery, card games and socializing with friends and family.
