Carroll Byron Cairnes, Jr.

Carroll Byron Cairnes, Jr., was borrn August 5, 1956, on Tachikawa Air Force Base, Japan and he passed away on January 1, 2016 in Palacios.

Carroll was a member of First Baptist Church, Palacios. He had certificates in Lock Smithing and Gemology, graduated
from Ocean Corporation and was qualified to go to the bottom of the ocean in the bell. He was a veteran of Special Forces where he earned The Army Achievement Medal plus nine other awards and commendations. Carroll worked 14 years in Health Physics at South Texas Nuclear Project, was a pecan tree farmer and hunting guide. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge on a broad spectrum.

Carroll was very special to his family. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jean Ann and Sammy Davidson, father and stepmother, Carroll, Sr. and Judy Cairnes; sisters Robin Cervenka and Elizabeth (Craig) Alford; brothers Russell Cervenka, Gary Wayne (Janet) Davidson and Kyle Cairnes; nieces Audrey Davidson, Maxine and Eva Alford; nephews Chase Cervenka, Blake Davidson, Jordan Cairnes, Cade and Reese Alford; great-niece Emmie Cervenka; many friends, including PHS Class of '74, which held a memoriam to celebrate the "Professor's" life.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Ed Newby and Miriam Falks, paternal grandparents John Carroll and Mildred Cairnes, all of Palacios.
