TWO NATIVE SONS CALLED TO REST

GRANT REZIN PATTERSON

Found dead in his home last Friday by those those missed him in his daily rounds about town, was Grant R. Patterson, a native of California, and who for many, many years.

"Grant" as he was known to old an young alike, lived alone in his home on West Main Street, since the death of his brother, H. B. (Barney) Patterson a few years ago.

When the writer first knew him, aside from his work as a watch repair man, he worked in what is now known as Cain's garage, then owned by Frank L. Wedertz. The deceased was a skillful mechanic, an excellent player on the violin, and one, who for many years, gave the fine qualities of his voice as a base singer at the majority of the funeral services conducted from Bridgeport and nearby communities.

Grant Patterson, also served for some time as Justice of the Peace of Bridgeport Town-ship. For a number of years, the deceased was absent from Mono County, working at his trade as a watchmaker in Santa Cruz and other towns in the Pajaro Valley.

At one time he was engaged as ahotorrarher. During said time he was engaged to photograph all the Chinese population in the Bay and adjoining sectors.

Later, he returned to the place of his birth--Mono County, where many years ago his father served as Sheriff of the County.

And, while family records are not at hand as we record his passing, we believe he has a brother, whose address is unknown, still living.

Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon from the Odd Fellow's Hall, conducted by A. C. E. Bridger, Mrs. D. M. Smith and Marven A. Bryant, both of who, had many joined their voices on such occasions in song, assisting with the singing, and his body was laid to rest beside that of his brother "Barney" in Bridgeport cemetery.

The funero! arrangements were under the direction of Undertaker A. S. Bryant.
