Stokes – Louis "Ed" Lucas was born on June 14, 1934, and passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at The Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice from Parkinson's and severe dementia.

His family will have a private gathering to celebrate his life at a later time.

Ed graduated from Washington High School and was an all-star football player for the Pam Pack. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Army and was sent to the Korean War. After returning home he was employed as a magistrate in Plymouth and also did some barbering on the side. He had obtained a degree from barber school.

He left Plymouth and started working construction jobs in several states and retired from construction work at the age of 72. When he moved back to NC, he met his true love Marlene Lucas, and they were married for 27 years.

Ed was a hardworking man all his life. He loved his big garden, and his biggest enjoyment was fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Harold and Margaret Lucas; and brother, Jack Lucas.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and grandchildren.Ed had several friends from his work and high school that he cherished.
