'In loving memory of my dear husband Colonel Henry Charles Kemble, late 2nd. Bengal Cavalry, who died August 26th. 1907 in his 67th. year. "But O for the touch of a vanished hand and the sound of a voice that is still." "The strife is o'er, the battle done." He took part in the Indian Mutiny Campaign of 1858, being present at the Relief of Azimghur, receiving the medal. He served in the Campaign on the North-West Frontier of India in 1863-64, including the affair at Shobander, receiving the medal. He also served with the 2nd. Bengal Cavalry in the Egyptian War of 1802, taking part in the action at Kassassin and the Battle of Tel-El-Kekir and the capture of Cairo, being mentioned in despatches and receiving the brevet of Lieutenant-Colonel, the medal with clasps and Khedives's Star, and the Fourth Class of the Medal of the Osmanien.'
