Bruce Alan Albrecht was born on July 6, 1953, to Elmer and Virginia (Bohn) Albrecht in Red Wing, Minnesota. He grew up in Mitchell, SD, and graduated from Mitchell High School. A year after graduation, he went to work for the Milwaukee and Burlington Northern railroads, where he worked for 15 years as a Carman and supervisor.

Bruce chose to change careers and attended Northern State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting. He worked as an accountant for Cahill and Associates and Rohl Distributing for several years. Bruce then became the business manager for the Aberdeen YMCA for 22 years up to the time of his passing. The "Y" became an extended family for Bruce throughout his years of employment. He was a dedicated employee and seldom took a day off.

Bruce lived at Richmond Lake for over 40 years. Bruce and Becky were married in 1987 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The couple continued living at the lake for their 36 years of marriage. They welcomed one son, Scott, and the family enjoyed the "Lake Life." The family welcomed family and friends each summer for many gatherings. Bruce was a devoted husband and father. He spent endless hours golfing, bowling, and playing darts with Becky and Scott. Bruce was a regular at league golf and tournaments at the Aberdeen Country Club (Goat Ranch). He participated on several bowling teams, dart, and softball teams. He attended the state dart tournament every year with Becky and friends.

Bruce was a gentle and kind person who, throughout his life, had the gift of giving himself to others. He enjoyed his friends at Schwan's Recreation, and was one of the founding members of the "Northside Schwan's Group." Bruce was also an avid Vikings and Twins fan.
