Larry Dean "Papaw" Zuckschwerdt age 57 of Puryear, died Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, surrounded by his family.

Larry formerly worked for Bill Holland's Construction Company. He enjoyed working with model cars, working wooden puzzles, watching wrestling, being Papaw to his grand babies, and cheering on the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide. Roll Tide Roll.

Born April 24, 1966, Arab, AL, he was the son of the late Otto Zuckschwerdt, and the late Gracie Wade Zuckschwerdt.

Survivors include his seven children, Stacy Kemppainen of Puryear, Mandy (James Cathers) Kemppainen of Puryear, Megan (James) Catt of Puryear, Susan (Robbie) Witt of Paris, Wayne Kemppainen and Jesse Kemppainen both of Puryear, Tommy (Morgan Hulett) of Paris; two sisters, Ruth (Randy) Phillips of Jackson, and Kathy Crouch of Murray; four brothers, William Zuckschwerdt of Paris, Jimmie Zuckschwerdt of Hazel Green, AL, Jerry Zuckschwerdt of GA, and Danny (Stephanie) Zuckschwerdt of Puryear; ten grandchildren, Steven, Bella, Skylir, Lilly, Jamie, Sydney, Anthony, Rhianna, Silas, and Novie; two great grandchildren, Ace and Avery; and many nieces and nephews and their families; the love of his life and best friend, Kathy; and a special care giver and friend, Paige Harris.

In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by two children, Larry Adam Kemppainen, and Justin Kemppainen; four sisters, Gloria Shumaker, Deloris Williams, Teresa Newell, and Dorothy Christine Zuckschwerdt; a son in law, Todd McKinney; a brother-in-law, Jackie Williams; and his faithful dog, Willow, that brought so much joy to his life.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the services. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the funeral home from 10 am until 12 pm. His graveside service will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 1 pm with his brother Danny Zuckschwerdt officiating.

Papaw's children will serve as pallbearers for the service. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be James Cathers, James Catt, Robbie Witt, and Little Bill Zuckschwerdt.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Big Sandy, TN.

Larry requested that no flowers or gifts be sent, but that memorials may be made to Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.
