Nancy Rains Lambert, 85, of Marshall, Texas went to be with our Lord on November 8, 2023, after a long battle with COPD.

A lifelong resident of Marshall. Nancy was born in Marshall, Texas on January 21, 1938, to Colonel Major M. Rains and Emma Langguth Rains. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1956 and attended the University of Texas, graduating with a degree in Education.

She lived the most amazing life. Due to her love and kids and animals, she traveled from coast-to-coast attending events with both in tow. She co-founded the Marshall Animal Shelter as well the Harrison County 4-H Beef Team and the Harrison County 4-H Mounted Drill Team. Most recently, Nancy chartered the local chapter of Red Hat Mamas as Queen Mum. She spent her whole life living the entrepreneurial spirit running Powder Mill Kennel and Powder Mill Farm.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by Wendy Newman and husband Eddie Grant of Harleton, Texas, Scott W. Reagan of Long Beach, California, Lisa Sangalli and husband Todd of Texarkana, Texas, and Robert Lee Lambert Jr. of Marshall, Texas as well as her grandchildren, Corey and Madison Newman, Brett and Amber Newman, Nathan and Jordan Russell, Makenzie Sangalli, and David Sangalli. Also surviving her are her greatgrand children, Eleanor, Rowan and Grant. She also had many beloved cousins.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday November 15, 2023, at Sullivan Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. A Life Celebration funeral service will be on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Trinity Episcopal Church of Marshall.
