A memorial service for Jean Ewing, 76, will be at 6 p.m. today, May 7, 2008 at the Story Woman's Club.
She died on May 4, 2008 at her residence.
She was born April 17, 1932, in Concordia Kan., to Orville William and Doris Winifred (Brown) Smith. She grew up and attended schools in Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1950.
She was a bartender bar, manager and worked at the Golden Steer, the Sheridan Inn, the Sheridan Center, the Wagon Box and Lodore and several places in Red Lodge Mont.
She ran a taxi service called the Piney Pony Express between Story and Sheridan and also ran her own lunch wagon.
She performed at "Itch the Clown"
Sher also worked at for Collections Professionals and for Avco Finance in Sheridan.
She is survived by two daughters, Doe Tabor of Eugene Oregon and Diana Evan Huskey of Story, two brothers, Marston Beatty of Fort Bragg, N.C. and Bill Smith of Longmont, Colo. and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one grandson.
Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
