"Robert Joseph Bushman, 58, of 214 East Seventy-fourth street terrace, retired assistant vice-president of the Union National bank, died last night at the home. He had been in ill health about five years.

Mr. Bushman was associated with the old Fidelity National Bank and Trust company about thirteen years before it was reorganized as the Union National bank in 1933. He was assistant cashier at the Union National bank about three years and was appointed assistant vice-president in about 1939. He retired in February 1949.

Mr. Bushman was born in Alden, Ia., and was graduated from Iowa State College at Ames. In World War I he served with the Signal Corps in France about eighteen months. He moved to Kansas City in 1919.

He was director of the Merchants Credit association from about 1930 to 1940. He also was a member of the Executives association, the Murray Davis post of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Methodist church in Alden, Ia.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice F. Bushman of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Gwendolyn Hill of 7319 Main street; a stepson, Donald F. Scott of Houston, Tex.; and a brother, Arthur J. Bushman of Summit, N.J." The Kansas City Times, September 11, 1953
