He was a native of Hardin County, a Navy veteran, a lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church and was a graduate of St. James Catholic High School. He retired from civil service after 38 years, was a member of NARFE, the NRA, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1455 and the Rosary Guild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Manley and Mary Thelma Boothe Edlin.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Audrey L. Newton Edlin, three sons William S. Edlin and Thomas R. Edlin, both of Elizabethtown, and Mark J. Edlin and his wife, Anna, of Boston, Ky.; a daughter, Lisa A. Kelly and her husband, Danny, of Elizabethtown; a sister, Rita Ann Brian of Cox's Creek; and six grandchildren, Josh Edlin, Daniele Kelly, Tim Edlin, David Edlin, Ryan Kelly and Sean Kelly.
Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
